I have always wanted to be an artist and am interested in landscapes and seascapes. The natural beauty of rocks, trees, sky and water has always fascinated me. Some of my influences include the work of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists such as Cezanne and Van Gogh. Like them, I try to capture the essence of nature, light, composition, and atmosphere.
Portraits are of interest to me as well, and I am always in the process of exploring that subject matter.
Some of my work is an exploration into abstraction and so my art is an ever-evolving practice.
Living in the beautiful fishing village of Port Stanley, by the shores of Lake Erie, subject matter for my oil paintings is bountiful. I am never at a loss for something of beauty to paint, whether it be water, beach, field, farms and forests.
I am an active member of not only the Port Stanley Art Guild, but also the Association of Port Stanley Artists (APSA) which provides member art in many of the buildings in Port Stanley, such as the Dentist Office and the Port Stanley Festival Theatre.
