As long as I can remember, the colours, the movement and the moods of the world have fascinated me. In my early years, I spent many hours wandering through the fields and ravines around our home, looking for the first spring flowers, catching salamanders under rocks and skating on the river.
As I continue to enjoy the changing world around me, I can be suddenly be overwhelmed by what nature presents to us.
Studying human behavior was part of my career. Personal interactions and reactions have always intrigued me. The bubbling child, the radical teens and the wise faces of the elderly attract me as much as the stormy sky or the perennial garden.
When I catch sight of one of these fleeting moments I have an overwhelming urge to put that reaction on paper or canvas. Often grasping the mood is elusive, but when I get that connection the results become personal and rewarding to me.
