Bio: Linda Carter is a quilter and fibre artist with a passion for fabrics and fibres of all colours and textures. She creates colourful works of art from cottons, linens, wool, thread, feathers and other natural fibres. Linda graduated from the University of Toronto with a BSc in Microbiology in 1978 and from the University of Ottawa with an MSc in Molecular Biology in 1992, and has no formal training in Fine Arts. In the past, she has created several landscape paintings in acrylics and oils. In 2013 she was introduced to the art of quilting, producing bed quilts and quilted wall hangings from existing patterns, and over time her work has evolved to the production of her own fabric art designs. She has developed her techniques through workshops with quilters and fibre artists. Linda is a member of the Kemptville and Lanark County Quilt Guilds and the Port Stanley Artists Guild.
