JENNIFER BARFETT LLOYD
Location: Port Bruce, Ontario
Medium: Acrylic, Water Mixable Oils I cannot remember a time where I did not love to draw or be creative. It was always in the forefront of my life. I experienced my first art lesson in 1976 at the age of 12 with Adeline Schwartz (oil painter and muralist) of Kitchener, Ontario. The memory of the scent of oil paint and turpentine still remind me of those cherished days from my childhood. Art became a way to define myself. |
The quote by Henry David Thoreau, “The world is but a canvas of our imagination”, is how I think of each stroke of my paintbrush. Working in healthcare for the last 30 years, art has become a much-needed light in my life. The principal theme of my work is nature, more specifically the texture, movement and colour of water. Living beside the water, influences me daily. My artistic style is complex like me, sometimes realistic, sometimes fun and colourful!
My future goals are to acquire increased technical skills, paint “out of the box” and try illustrations and portraits and experience plein air painting.
My work is displayed locally and is on display in many homes throughout the province. I accept commissions and if there is a piece of my art you would like but is sold, I can create one similar. I can be contacted at [email protected]
