She enjoyed taking printmaking, photography, oil painting, drawing, colour theory, life drawing, portraiture and sculpture. She also studied Interior Design and Art History before moving to the Maritimes to further her art education at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. She completed her four year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1997. She majored in Oil Painting and Photography. Drawing and Sculpture also played a large role in her studies. While in the Maritimes Heather began teaching art privately. After University, she continued to teach art privately while living and working in Ottawa.

One of Heather's adventures led her to Kaohsiung, Taiwan where she resided for three years. She taught several art courses as well as English immersion to students of all ages. She painted with several Taiwanese artists on a regular basis. She also studied Chinese Calligraphy with the local Buddhist Nuns. While living in Taiwan she travelled throughout Asia and South East Asia.  Heather loves painting on location so you may just see her painting with a French easel around town.
